Snow Storms and Rules
Life in Canada has many advantages and some disadvantages. One of those is driving in the snow.Every year that winter comes around, I find myself readjusting my driving, and rightfully so. Nothing is worse then having a maniac driving in front of you swerving from left to right because they are used to clear roads and a quick pace.
On Wednesday night, I found myself, interestingly enough, in the midst of a snow storm. My visibility was horrible and I could not even see a car length ahead of me.
Which brings me to my thoughts on snow storms. See, sometimes we have snow storms in life. Moments where everything in our life path is "whitened" by indecision, unclear answers and doubt. We find ourselves frustrated at not being able to see ahead of our present situation, we start to lose hope, get stressed, become discontented. But, the best part of it, is there is no other way to go but forward.
See, as I was driving, I knew in my mind, I had to get home. There was no returning, no looking back, no second guessing. My determination even surprised me. And, what do you know? The roads got better, bit by bit, step by step, "drive by drive".
God doesn't command us to trust Him when everything is clear and drawn out for us. That isn't trust, that's assurance. But, in those unclear times, He commands us to move forward, and obey His guiding hand.
It's comical to think that I got a life lesson out of a snow storm, but sometimes the simplest things can be the chalkboard of life.
