Relish~*

Charles Dederich once said, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." I am sure that in saying this, the context of his quotation was more extensive, but yet the simplicity of the quote is enticing.

Today is the FIRST day of the rest of my life.

TODAY is the first day of the rest of my life.

Today is the first day of the rest of my LIFE.

When said with different inflections, I find my interpretations change. The past few months of my life have been interesting. I cannot quite explain it. My life hasn't changed all the much. My job is just as wonderful , my social life is full and my living conditions have not changed all that much. But I feel this urgency for life in a new way, in a way that I have never felt before. I guess it could be likened to:

My favorite television show is having it's last episode live and I cannot miss it.

The book store that I have spent countless hours in is closing it's doors forever and I want to visit one last time-just to breathe in the smell of fresh pages.

The quaint coffee shop on the corner is brewing it's last organic chai latte and I must relish that creamy, delicious taste one last time.

Life has an endless supply of blessings, they are in everything, all around us. The air you breathe, the smile of a stranger, the kiss of a loved one. I have choosen to see the beautiful and wonderful things in my life and I am in awe. We miss so much if we keep our eyes closed. My challenge for you today is to:

RELISH life's simple pleasures, you may just be amazed.

  1. I saw that clock in a store and wanted to buy it but he wouldn't sell it to me. Any idea where I can get one?
    Love.
