Where is the passion?

I had an epiphany today.

Why don't we say the things we really mean? Why don't we passionately speak what's burning within our hearts?

I heard a man say to a woman today, "You stir something inside me".

What he was trying to say was, "You move me, you make me want to be a better man."

Which got me thinking. Where has our passion gone?

Where is the conviction in our speech, the drive in our work, the motivation in our relationships?

Since when was mediorce an order on the menu of life?

If we feel something deeply, why don't we say it? Why does it have to take a terminal illness, a broken relationship, a near-death experience to then inspire us to articulate how we feel? Since when do we admire people's success only when they are gone? Why do we speak kind things about them to others when they are not around or only say positive things when we feel obligated?

What if, in some new and inspired way, we started to live life differently. We began to live life with deep conviction, rich articulation and awe-inspiring speech. So much so, that suddenly people would stop. They would stop settling for second best, for half of a life, for a "glass half empty" approach. And maybe in the meantime, we would no longer use our dire situation to be the only platform for our speech.

You may never know how the positive, kind, and warm-hearted things you say to people will affect them-your goodness may regain their faith in the kindness of humanity.

Or maybe, by your uninhibited approach, you will empower them to have a positive voice.
