Burnt Out|
About two weeks ago I stepped back and realized I was beginning to exhibit the signs of being burnt out. I was starting to worry excessively about future and feeling stuck.
Whenever I have these cyclical feelings, I check in with myself.
It goes something like this, “Hey, what’s at the core of these feelings? What’s bothering you? How can you improve upon this and alter this direction?”
And every time I go through these periods of self analysis, I always learn something about myself.
This week was no different. I came to the realization that I have an insatiable appetite for discovery. For learning news things, seeing new places, meeting new people.
It’s really quite profound for me, to come to that realization.
But here’s the catalyst for me.
If you are feeling stuck, don’t just search for something interesting and temporary. Allow your desire for discovery to be meaningful.
Find things that ignite you.
Inspire you.
Give you perspective.
Do things that scare you.
It can be simple or complex.
For me, I started listening to podcasts. A hobby I had years ago that I put to the way side. I’ve learned about economics, the brain, meditation and starting a business.
My husband encouraged me to print off pictures that I have taken and hang them up. Which in the turn has inspired me to start taking pictures again.
I signed up for a leadership course I’ve been debating doing for a year.
Here’s the lesson I'm learning and I hope will help you too...
Doors open when you allow yourself to step outside of your comfort zone. Maybe the real reason you are tired and worn out isn’t that, but rather that you are uninspired and frustrated.
As Morgan Harper Nichols so beautifully stated, “Perhaps the reason you are drawn to flowers is not only for their outer beauty, but because they remind you beautiful things will bloom after the longest season of waiting."
Stop waiting and start blooming.

Love this! Thank you!
